Florida PEP Scholarship Guide for Homeschool Families

Updated October 02, 2026 · Paloma Ruiz

Program guidance changes. This article is educational and does not determine eligibility or reimbursement.

The Personalized Education Program, commonly called PEP, is part of Florida’s scholarship landscape. Eligible families may use an education savings account for approved education-related uses, but successful participation depends on current rules, documentation, deadlines, and the way each purchase is made.

Start with the current handbook

Before spending, open the current PEP Purchasing Guide and your scholarship portal. Some expenses may require pre-authorization, specific documentation, or particular purchasing methods.

Direct purchases and reimbursements are different

A product being educational—or a provider saying that families used scholarship funds before—does not automatically mean your transaction will qualify.

Questions to answer before paying

  1. Is the item or service currently eligible?
  2. Does it need pre-authorization?
  3. Must it use a particular marketplace or workflow?
  4. What documentation is required?
  5. Do frequency-of-purchase rules apply?
  6. What are the deadlines?

ClassWallet expectations

Whether “Pay by ClassWallet” can be offered on this store depends on merchant approval, current integration requirements, and marketplace structure. Until formally approved and tested, it is a planned eligible-payment pathway—not a checkout promise.

Verify first, document clearly, and avoid relying on old posts or last year’s rules.
